With only four days to go I am a little nervous and as always with a big race like this, I am concerned I haven’t trained enough.
I have been fighting a cold for about two weeks so I have been taking it easy on the bike. There is no chance of fatigue in the legs now.
Packing the motor home tomorrow. Massage yesterday. We hit the road for Canberra on Thursday. Race start is midday Saturday.
I have an awesome support crew coming along to help.
Peter Hart from Horsham Colour is Pitt Manager. Pete is an experienced Mountain Biker and will take great pleasure in seeing me suffer.
Sarah Forehan runs her own personal training company (FitStopPT.com.au) and is coming along to ensure I eat correctly. Her knowledge of stretches and the body in general is an awesome help and will be very valuable during the race.
Sacha Leeman is coming along as an all round support.
Brendan Taylor from PacBrands. He is very experienced bike mechanic.
Matthew Harman, my brother. He will come in very valuable as he as agreed to stay awake throughout the night ensuring Pete doesn’t fall asleep.
Below is some footage from a recent outing with Sacha and Matt at the You Yangs. Filmed using a Kodak Playsport.
